Campus Web Services offers several hosted website options.  Our website solutions are best suited for websites aimed at communicating information via text, images, video and file downloads.

An independent website is a collection of pages that live at a unique url/web address. An example of an independent website is https://news.arizona.edu/ or https://law.arizona.edu/.

Arizona Sites

Who is Eligible?

University of Arizona’s colleges, departments, units, centers, institutes as well as large initiatives and projects. 

Approval Required?

Yes, all new Arizona Sites will need to be approved by the unit’s Designated Marketing Leads.  Website logos must be approved as well.

Who Builds and Supports Arizona Sites?

Arizona Sites are designed to be easy for anyone with UA Net ID to create content and edit content and, add or remove users. Campus Web Services contracts with Pantheon to host Arizona Sites, and provides all security updates as well as feature improvements.  Support for Arizona Sites is provided by Campus Web Services through live Zoom trainings, Service Now, as well as one-on-one consultations.

Minimum Requirements To Retain Your Site

  • Content Updates: Website content must be updated at least once a year. 
  • Ownership: Site owners must renew sites by digitally signing an annual Service Level Agreement. 
  • Traffic: Arizona Sites must meet certain site traffic minimums as measured by Google Analytics (provided with your Arizona Site).  Details provided in the Service Level Agreement.  

Cost

Free for all eligible units. Arizona Sites is a subsidized service of UITS.

Arizona Faculty Sites

Who is Eligible?

Faculty Sites are available exclusively for University of Arizona faculty who have an active Net ID and their associated labs, groups or projects that need a flexible, online platform for university related presence that meet branding, accessibility and mobile responsive needs.

Approval Required? 

No approvals required.

Who Builds and Supports Arizona Faculty Sites?  

Arizona Faculty Sites are built on Wordpress and are designed to be easy for anyone with UA Net ID to create and edit content and, add or remove users. Campus Web Services contracts with Campus Press to host the sites, manage website security and provide email support for faculty who have site building questions. 

Minimum Requirements To Retain Your Site

  • Content Updates: Website content must be updated at least once a year.  
  • Ownership: Site owner must renew site annually via email.  If site owner leaves University or changes to a non-faculty position, site owner will be provided with a backup of their site and site will be removed.

Cost

Free for all Faculty members and their labs. Arizona Faculty Sites are a subsidized service of UITS.

Desire2Learn (D2L) is a learning management system (LMS) used by The University of Arizona to deliver online courses, manage student enrollments, and facilitate communication between students and instructors. It provides a platform for course materials, assignments, quizzes, and discussions, enhancing both in-person and remote learning experiences.

Google Sites

"I am a student and need to create a website for myself, a project or a club."

The University of Arizona manages student email (CatMail) through Google Apps for Education Edition. As part of this package students (as well as faculty and staff) are able to create websites using Google Sites.

Managed Cloud Services

"I am looking for a flexible hosting environment for my unique website or web app."

Do you host software on a local server not yet included in Managed Cloud Services? Leverage AWS server space in the campus cloud infrastructure for your own uses, on your choice of a Windows or Linux platform.

Trellis Events

"I want to promote an upcoming event and enable people to register online."

Trellis provides an enterprise events management tool that will allow you to manage virtual, hybrid, and in-person campus events throughout the year. The application is currently being developed to give users a free, end-to-end events management tool with curated reporting and data integration abilities; one that integrates with the rest of the Trellis CRM system suite.

Sharepoint

"I need a way to share information, documents and files with my team and to manage who has permission to see which files."

SharePoint is a collaborative platform for document management, team collaboration, and communication within a team. An easy website building interface, as well as full integration with Office 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) makes SharePoint an ideal solution for knowledge sharing. Sharepoint can even be combined with a unique Microsoft Teams instance to enhance collaboration and communication.

Qualtrics

"I need to survey or collect information from my audience."

Qualtrics is generally thought of as a survey tool, but it is in fact an online form building tool with robust integration and reporting capabilities.
