Central vs. Departmental Classrooms

Classrooms at the University of Arizona fall in two categories, those scheduled through Room and Course Scheduling ("centrally scheduled") and those scheduled and controlled by specific campus departments.

UTC Equipment Services is responsible for the audiovisual equipment in centrally scheduled classrooms. An instructor can still expect assistance from us even if assigned to a departmentally controlled room.  We will provide support and assistance to anyone requesting audiovisual assistance or equipment for a course that is listed in the current class schedule.

Many classrooms under our auspices have permanent equipment installed. We further categorize the classrooms as multimedia classrooms and regular classrooms. For a complete list please consult Rooms on the Web, an instructional tool developed by both UTC Equipment Services and the Learning Technology Center. At this site you can find information on seating type and capacity, audiovisual equipment, connectivity status, as well as images of the centrally scheduled classrooms.
