| WHAT: |
GIS Assistance Grant
is sponsored by CASA and SBSRI. It is a competitive grant program that
offers 10 hours per week GIS assistance for one semester. A CASA lab
assistant will devote up to 10 hours per week of his/her time working in
the CASA lab on the GIS project of the PI receiving the award. Lab
assistant assignment will be made by the CASA director, Gary
Christopherson, based upon
the GIS needs of the project being supported. Applicants are strongly
encouraged to discuss their projects with Dr. Christopherson before

| HOW: |
Submit 1 original and 3 copies of a proposal to the SBSRI.
See guidelines for proposal specifics. The proposal should contain a cover
sheet, abstract, three-page proposal, list of references (2 page max.),
description of how the research will be incorporated into the graduate and
undergraduate learning experience, description of how the GIS assistant’s
time will be utilized, and PI’s vitae. |

Deadline: Oct. 31, 2006 (For Spring 2007 assistant
time)
Deadline: May 8, 2007 (For Fall 2007 assistant time) |
| WHO: |
SBS Faculty who have at least .50 FTE in SBS and who are
tenured, tenure-track, continuing or continuing eligible. Individuals with
"research" titles, or for whom research is a primary duty, are
not eligible. |
