Lieutenant Colonel Patrick N. Leslie was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1991, with a Bachelor of Science degree in History, and was commissioned through ROTC as a Distinguished Military Graduate, into the Field Artillery.

Lieutenant Colonel Leslie’s assignments include Company Fire Support Officer for 1st Battalion, 15th Field Artillery in Camp Casey, Korea; Battery Fire Direction Officer, Battery Executive Officer and Battalion Intelligence Officer for 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery, Ft. Sill, OK; Detachment Commander for ODA 323 and ODA 325 and Assistant Operations Officer for 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Ft. Bragg, NC; Assistant Professor of Military Science at Davidson College in Davidson, NC; Company Commander of Delta Company, Support Battalion, 1st SWTG (Airborne) at Ft. Bragg, NC,; and Company Commander, C Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) in Key West, FL.

Lieutenant Colonel Leslie is a graduate of the Command and General Staff Course, Combined Arms and Staff Services School, the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, the Special Forces Qualification Course, the SERE Course, the Combat Diver Qualification and Combat Diving Supervisor Courses, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, and the Basic Airborne and Jumpmaster Courses. Major Leslie also received a Master of Business Administration degree from Touro University.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with 1/OLC, Army Commendation Medal with 2/OLC, Special Forces Tab, Special Operations Dive Supervisor Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Tunisian Parachutist Badge.

Lieutenant Colonel Leslie is married to the former Miss Jennifer Fendia of Houston, Texas. They have four children: Nicholas, Matthew, Sara and Jack.

Major John B. Crump enlisted in the Army in May 1980. He served most of his career in Special Forces units as an enlisted soldier, NCO and commissioned officer.

After completing Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training (05B), and Jump School he completed the Special Forces Qualification Course at Ft. Bragg, NC. Assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group, Ft. Devens, MA in May 2001, he served as an SF Communicator in the Group Signal Company and on Operational Detachment A (ODA) 315, a team specializing in mountain operations. After completing the Basic Russian Language Course at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, he was again assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group at Ft. Devens, MA. Again on a Mountain Team, ODA 075, he served as the Senior Communications NCO then as NCO-in-Charge of the Battalion Communications Section.

MAJ Crump graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned into Military Intelligence in October 1987. After completing the MI Officers’ Basic Course at Ft. Huachuca, AZ he served as Commander of the Special Security Detachment at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. From there he returned to Special Forces serving initially as the Deputy Director of Intelligence for the 7th Special Operations Support Command in Bad Tolz, Germany. While assigned there he deployed to Operations DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM supporting Combat Search and Rescue missions and other Special Operations. Following the Gulf War, he redeployed to the Mid East to support Operation PROVIDE COMFORT, the largest humanitarian assistance operation ever conducted, in Northern Iraq and Turkey. Next serving as the Battalion S2 of 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group and Commander of the battalion’s Military Intelligence Detachment, he served as the senior intelligence officer on the ground during Operation SILVER ANVIL the Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation in Sierra Leone Africa in May and June of 1992. During his tour in Germany he also led a detachment in Joint Combined Training Exercise in Belgium with the Belgian ParaCommandos and served as a liaison with the 75th Ranger Regiment and the Joint Special Operations Command.

MAJ Crump returned to the US to complete the MI Officers’ Advanced Course at Ft. Huachuca, AZ and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. He then served until August 1987 as a Doctrine Writer at the Intelligence Center and was the primary author of FM 34-80-1, Intelligence Support to the Digitized Brigade. Until his retirement in May 2000 he served as an instructor of Military Operations Other Than War in all of the Intelligence Officer courses at Ft. Huachuca. During that time he also served as a visiting instructor at the Command and General Staff College and deployed in support of the Stabilization Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a Mobile Training Team in Zadar, Croatia, and the Intelligence Exchange Program with the Israeli Defense Forces.

At the University of Arizona MAJ Crump has served as the Executive Officer, MSI Instructor, MSII Instructor and currently as the Commandant of Cadets and MSIII Instructor.

Captain Tony Majobian graduated from Evangel Univeristy with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, and was commissioned through ROTC into the Signal Corp.

Captian Majobian's assignments included Platoon Leader B Co., 440th Signal Battalion, Germany; Company Executive Officer, HHD, 440th Signal Battalion, Germany; G6 Battle Captain, 5th Corps, Germany in support of OIF I; Brigade S3 Operations Assistant, 22nd Signal Brigade, Germany; Battalion S6, 484th Aviation Support Battalion, 4th ID, Fort Hood, Texas; and Battalion S6, 379th Engineer Battalion, Montana. He is currently the Company Commander of 208th Transportation Company in Tucson, Arizona.

Captain Majobian Completed the Signal Officer Basic Course, and the Officer Advanced Course with CAS III.

Senior Military Instructor / MS I Instructor
Master Sergeant Brian A. Varble is the Senior Military Instructor of Army ROTC at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Master Sergeant Varble entered military service in July 1990 as an indirect fire infantryman. He served in the 1st Armored Division during OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/ DESERT STORM. He served as an armored vehicle driver, 4.2” mortar gunner, and squad leader in the 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Fort Riley, KS and as an 81mm mortar squad leader in the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea. He went on to serve as a fire direction computer and section sergeant in a 4.2” mortar platoon in the 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Fort Stewart, GA. He volunteered for Special Forces training in 1996. Upon completion of training, he was assigned to the Co. A, 1st Bn, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Boeblingen, Germany.

During his tenure in Special Forces, Master Sergeant Varble has served in the following assignments: detachment medical sergeant for SF-ODA 015; detachment senior medical sergeant and combat marksmanship instructor for SF-ODA 013, including numerous deployments and contingency operations in the European Command area of responsibility; small unit tactics and Unconventional Warfare instructor in 1st Bn, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne), Camp Mackall, NC; battalion operations NCO, operations sergeant major, and detachment operations sergeant for SF-ODA 3231including deployment to OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, Afghanistan with 2nd Bn, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC.

Master Sergeant Varble is the graduate of the following military courses: Basic Airborne Course, Unit Armorer Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Che-judo Mountaineering and Rappelling Course, Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course (11C), Special Forces Qualification Course, U.
