By 2LT Liber
October 8 - Congratulations to Cadets James Beasley and William Gorosave for receiving civilian sponsored scholarships for the 2008-2009 school year. The Civilian Sponsored Scholarship Program(CSSP) committee conducted a scholarship board on 16-17 August 2008 and 50 scholarships were awarded for 8 scholarship programs. Cadet Beasley received a scholarship from The United Services Automobile Association and Cadet Gorosave received a scholarship from the Bank of America General Creighton W. Abrams program. Both were selected for outstanding performances in the Army ROTC program.

Congratulations also to Cadets Matthew Gasser and Enwei Liber for receiving Scholarship awards from the Arizona Airborne Association. The Association’s Scholarship Program was established in 2002, and it awards money to Airborne qualified ROTC cadets selected from Arizona’s Universities by their Professors of Military Science (PMS). The Scholarship Fund was named in honor of Lieutenant General Sinclair Melner, who supported the Association. The General was also the first guest speaker at the Association’s first annual airborne banquet.

Again, congratulations to these awardees for their outstanding achievements.
