Pam joined the Department in August 2003 as an Adjunct Assistant Professor
and in October 2003 she became the full-time Academic Advisor for
political science majors with last names L-Z. Dr. Coonan also serves
as the Department Internship Coordinator.
Pam comes to us from Tokyo Jogakkan College in Tokyo, Japan,
where she served as the Dean of Students. She has also taught political science
courses at Morehead State University and the University of Kentucky.
Pam has a B.A. in politics from Fairfield University and a
Ph.D. in political science from the University of Hawaii at
Manoa. Pam's area of focus is gender and politics in Japan.
She teaches POL 464, IR of East Asia for the Department.
