Jennifer Vanderleest is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine. She received her M.S.P.H. from the University of Kentucky, M.D. from Loyola University Chicago and was resident and chief resident in Family and Community Medicine at the University of California San Francisco, San Francisco General Hospital. Recently she served as the Medical Director of HIV/STD Services for the Pima County Health Department.

 

Dr. Vanderleest lectures undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate health care providers on issues of LGBT health with a special focus on transgender care. She also is interested in HIV/AIDS, sexual health education, sex work, homelessness, and disparities in health/health care delivery for urban underserved populations. She is the co-organizer of the research cluster on transgender youth and health, and co-principal investigator and project director of an American Association of Medical Colleges/Macy Foundation grant to improve medical education for chronic illness care.
