Research Interests:

My research interests are centered broadly on insect ecology, especially species interactions and patterns of diversity. Recently I have become very interested in how interactions between ants and plants can shape community structure and species composition within a habitat. Under the guidance of Dr. Judie Bronstein, I have begun studying the mutualistic relationship between several native ant species and the fishhook barrel cactus, Ferocactus wislizeni, in the Sonoran desert.
