Complainant and Victim Information

In making a report to the Dean of Students Office, whether you are the complainant and/or victim, there are certain provisions that ensure the integrity of the disciplinary process:

  • - You are encouraged to consult with and request advice from Dean of Students Office staff regarding incidents and the disciplinary process

  • - You have the right to file a Student Code of Conduct complaint

  • - You have the right to withdraw a complaint with the exception of those incidents involving imminent threat to the safety of the University community

  • - Your complaint will be treated seriously and fairly

  • - You have the right to expect a confidential disciplinary process

  • - You have the right to be informed about the outcome of a disciplinary case where disclosure of information is not prohibited by state or federal law

  • - The Dean of Students Office will consider the concerns and needs of victims throughout the disciplinary process

Your responsibilities include:

  • - Giving an accurate account of the incident
  • - Submitting supporting documentation
  • - Submitting a written or online Student Code of Conduct complaint form
  • - Asking for help when you need it
