Introduction
Today’s students face a world more complex than we could ever have imagined.
It is crucial that the issues and challenges confronting students are identified – so
that at the University of Arizona we may serve them efficiently, with empathy
and excellence.
The Dean of Students Office
continually evaluates the student experience
throughout the school year to help identify the
issues most critical to students. This is performed
on a number of levels: brown bag lunches, meetings
with student leaders, publications such as the
"One Day at the UA" project, and periodic focus
groups. Another area of evaluation involves conducting
qualitative studies like the Campus Climate Survey
and student disruptive behavior in the classroom.
