Greek
Life Campaign
The University of Arizona
has joined together in partnership with fraternities
and sororities
on campus, the Strategic Alternative Learning
Techniques Center (SALT), Campus Health, The
Center for Student Involvement and Leadership,
the Dean of Students Office and Multicultural
Affairs and Student Success to develop an exceptional
success program for our Greek students. New
programs and services have been created to
improve Greek students’ academic performance,
leadership skills, health and wellness, reduce
risk behaviors associated with alcohol and
drug use and better prepare every student for
their future workforce and educational endeavors.
The UA’s new Greek community will build
on its strong tradition of friendship and support
while providing 21st Century student development
and retention programming to ensure every student
finds success at the UA and beyond.
"Be
a Part of the Legacy"
At Arizona, a strong Greek community makes
a stronger University. For decades, members
of our Greek community have made a commitment
to our campus through their stewardship of
the institution. Greek alumni put more time,
energy and financial support into the University
than any other alumni group. This tradition
of leadership has played a crucial role in
making the UA what it is today. Now, it is
time for our Greek alumni, Greek students,
parent and supporters to direct their efforts
at strengthening the UA Greek Community. We
must renew our commitment to a thriving Greek
system, because strong foundations create future
leaders.
Greek Life Task Force
Four years ago, the Student Life division chartered
a task force to analyze the condition of the
UA Greek Community and make substantive recommendations
to the UA President’s Cabinet about how
best to support student success within this
community. After 14 months of assessment, the
task force identified five major areas of opportunity
to improve the performance of students involved
in Greek Life.
The five focus areas include
academics, leadership, wellness, advisor development
and diversity.
Experts on campus were then called upon to
help develop, design and implement new programming
to address each area of opportunity.
The Greek
Life Campaign mission is to significantly improve
student performance and success. This
approach has already received national recognition
from peer Universities and national Greek organizations.
