5. Marshals will lead you to McKale Center and to your seats. Should you need
to leave your seat during the ceremony, you will be allowed to return during
the next break in the proceedings.
6. In our continuing efforts to highlight the achievements of students and the
roles faculty play in those success stories, we ask that you let us know of
interesting items for dissemination to the media. The quality of the press coverage
of commencement depends on the information the Office of University
Communications provides to the press. They depend upon the faculty to provide
information about students who might be the subject of human interest stories,
such as someone who has overcome great obstacles to graduate or who has
conducted interesting and significant research of national or global import, or of
interest to the public. It is essential, however, that you talk to the student ahead
of time. Please provide the student's name, contact information, and a short
paragraph or two regarding the student's background to Rebecca Ruiz-McGill,
media relations manager for the UA Office of University Communications,
who can be contacted at (520) 621-1878, rrmcgill@u.arizona.edu,
