Follow-Up

  • Always follow procedures outlined in the UA Code of Academic Integrity
  • Act on suspected cases of academic integrity violations (as required by the Code of Academic Integrity)
  • Call the Dean of Students Office (520) 621-7057 for questions about procedures
  • Conference with the student in a private setting.

At Conference:

  • Present evidence of dishonesty to student.
  • Allow the student an opportunity to respond to evidence
  • Make a decision based on the evidence and student response during conference
  • Consider:
      • mitigating circumstances
      • the student's response to the allegations
  • Complete “Record of Faculty/Student Conference Form” after the conference
  • As soon as possible, provide a copy of the “Record of Faculty/Student Conference Form” to the student either in person or via U.S. Mail Return Receipt – signature required. The US Post Office in the Student Union can assist in sending mail in this manner.
  • The Dean of Students Office or the College Dean’s Office may be able to help respond to parent calls/email in reaction to a suspected case of academic dishonesty.
  • If the incident occurs at the end of the semester, the grade awarded should be an incomplete “I” until the matter is resolved.
