Description: An interdisciplinary program designed to provide an academic environment in which to exam the ecological and socio-economic factors that influence the sustainable use of arid and semi-arid lands.
As an interdisciplinary degree program, ALRS requires collaboration among various colleges and departments. Members of the Executive Committee and the general ALRS faculty (45) are currently drawn from 18 departments and programs throughout the University. The ALRS students take courses in many departments and the program is clearly dependent on continued collaboration across campus.
