Implementation Notice:

Name: Change the name of the Program in Judaic Studies to the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies.
Initiating Unit: Committee on Judaic Studies, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
Program Contact: Ed Wright, edwright@email.arizona.edu. 626-5763

Description: In accordance with the guiding principles of the University’s “Focused Excellence” restructuring program, the Committee on Judaic Studies proposes that it reorganize as the “Arizona Center for Judaic Studies”. By raising a substantial endowment from private donors, Judaic Studies will substantially fund its evolution from a “committee” into a “center”. The endowment and reorganization will enable Judaic Studies to enhance its national and international reputation and to expand its efforts in teaching, research, and community service.
