Description: Like the other Professional Master’s programs at the University of Arizona (cf. the Professional Master’s degrees offered in Applied Physics, Mathematics, and Biosciences) the HLT Professional Master’s is designed specifically to prepare students to enter a competitive, scientific workforce. It will be a two-year program for students entering with background in linguistics and/or programming, and will provide coursework in the key areas of HLT including speech technology, stochastic language processing, language data structures, and business management. It will also offer industry internships in HLT in the state of Arizona and elsewhere. Students who complete the program will be able to get jobs on the cutting edge of information science and language-related technologies.
