TTE 417A.- New Secondary Course: Topics in the Teaching of English TOPICS TEACHING ENGLISH (1-3) I II S Students will develop a philosophy of teaching English and transform theory and core course content into pedagogy by preparing teaching portfolios, developing teaching units and lesson plans that include writing assignments, and applying principles of curriculum design. Methods of Educational Outreach in Theatre Arts (3) I Educational outreach activities in Theatre Arts occur in a variety of settings that includes schools, community centers, museums and professional and community theatres. This course examines the kinds of theatre arts outreach activities that can take place in these settings and focuses on specific methods for planning and teaching such activities. Students will be required to teach on five Saturday mornings during the semester. P, T AR 410 or consent of instructor. May be convened with T AR 507. Lecture - 3. 034 (CB22:10)
T AR 412. New Course: Producing Theatre for Young Audiences PRODUC THEATER YOUNG AUD(3) [RPT/1] I This course concentrates on the preparation and performance of a play for young audiences. New Course: History of Musical Theatre HIST OF MUSICAL THEATER (3) II Examines the history, elements, and structure of the musical from its antecedents through the Golden Age to present-day controversies.
